Create a DIY fashion app
DIY fashion app: your sewing patterns and tutorials, for your subscribers
Members download the pattern, sew along with the tutorial and send you a photo of the result; one subscription unlocks the whole pattern library.
Your sewing blog or customization workshop, published as an iOS and Android app you build yourself: PDF patterns inside locked articles, technique videos, members' creations sent by form, and a subscription billed by Apple and Google.
Free 30-day trial - No credit card required

The pattern, attached to the article
A PDF to print at home, for paying members
Each project is an article: the finished garment, the fabric and notions, the size range, then the pattern as an attached PDF that members download and print at home. Lock the patterns and keep the project presentation readable by everyone, up to the paragraph where you want the subscription offer to appear.

Sewing tutorials you can pause at every step
Videos by technique, from the first stitch to the invisible zipper
Film the tricky steps: setting in a sleeve, sewing an invisible zipper, finishing a hem. Sort them by technique and by level, and link each project to the tutorials it calls for. A member stuck at the collar finds the right video in two taps, pauses it and rewinds as often as needed.

Your members show what they sewed
A form for photos of their creations, a gallery you publish
Through a Form section, members send a photo of their version, the pattern used and a word about the fabric. Each submission lands in your inbox; you pick the ones you like and publish them in a gallery, which encourages the next project and shows off your patterns.

From your blog to your pattern app: three steps
What to settle before your first subscriber.
Your projects
One article per project with its PDF pattern; subscriptions open once ten of them are locked.Your tutorials
Video sections by technique, linked from the projects.Your offer
Per month, per year or both, priced for each store, with a trial period if you wish.
AI at the sewing table
Three practical uses.
To calculate
A fabric yardage calculator
Explain the tool you want, say a yardage estimate from the garment, the size and the fabric width; the AI Extension Builder generates the code and slots the section into your app.
Free
To answer
Sewing questions, answered from your projects
“Which needle for stretch jersey?” The Chatbot searches your written projects and technique notes; members without a subscription only draw on the free pages.
29€/month
To publish
The pattern of the month, released from ChatGPT
Once the MCP server links the app to ChatGPT or Claude, releasing the new project and its alert takes one request and one confirmation.

Size tables in an article members bookmark.
Fabric and notions lists
What to buy before you start, at the top of each project.

Beginner and advanced projects in separate sections.
Customization ideas
Upcycling, embroidery, dyeing: open articles that bring in new readers.
Search
Find a pattern by garment or technique.
On a computer
Members read their projects in the browser, next to the sewing machine.
The sewing blog
Older tutorials stay open; each new pattern goes to subscribers, announced by a push on release day.
The customization workshop
Between in-person sessions, members find each technique on video in the app; the workshops themselves are paid for outside the app.
The children's clothes designer
If your readers are parents after kids' fashion advice rather than patterns, head for the kids and teen fashion app.
Kids and teen fashionExtension Store
On the extensions side: Memberships (an add-on with Premium, standard in Pro), articles with PDFs, videos, the Form for creations, automatic push, bookmarks, the AI Extension Builder and the Chatbot.
What you pay for a sewing pattern app
Subscriptions require a native app: Premium plus Memberships, or Pro, where Memberships is part of the plan. The Form, videos, the AI Extension Builder and push notifications add nothing to the bill.
| Premium · apps and web app | 55€ /month, billed yearly |
| Memberships on top of Premium | 49€ /month |
| Pro · Memberships part of the plan | 105€ /month, billed yearly |
Apple and Google charge their developer accounts separately.
DIY fashion app: frequently asked questions
Can I sell a single pattern instead of a subscription?
No: the app sells a subscription that opens all your locked content, not items one by one. To sell a pattern on its own, use an online shop.
Can I sell sewing kits or fabric?
Not with the subscription, which only sells access to content. Kits and fabric are physical goods, for an online shop such as a GoodBarber eCommerce app.
Can a non-subscriber see the pattern?
They see the presentation of the project, up to the paragraph you choose; the pattern and the full instructions stay for subscribers.
Can members talk to each other?
They send you their creations through the form, and you publish the ones you choose in a gallery. A subscription app has no member chat: Memberships and the Chat or Community extensions cannot run in the same app.
Do the stores take a cut of my pattern subscriptions?
Yes, Apple and Google do: a standard 15% in most cases, 30% at Apple in the first year of a subscription unless you have joined its small business program. GoodBarber keeps no percentage.
Which plan for a DIY fashion app?
You need Premium and Memberships, or Pro, which already has it; the Standard plan, web only, has no way to sell subscriptions.
Your patterns and sewing tutorials, sold by subscription in your own app
PDF patterns in locked articles, technique videos, members' creations by form, a push for each pattern, a fabric calculator built with AI.
