The WOD on their phone at 6 a.m.

Written whenever you like, sent at the time you pick, to members only

Write tomorrow's WOD in its section, then schedule a push for 6 a.m.: your athletes wake up to the warm-up, the strength part and the metcon, with the beginners' scaled version written under the Rx. The notification targets the members' group; the curious visitor who downloaded the app to discover the box does not get it.

Every movement, filmed in your box

Snatch, muscle-up, double-unders: the video, the cues, the progressions

Build a video library of the movements you program: one video per movement, shot by your coaches, with the key points and the steps under each one, from the ring row to the muscle-up. The athlete who has forgotten the kip reviews it the night before in the library, instead of discovering it mid-class.

For the box's members only

One account per athlete, one group for the box

With Authentication, each athlete creates an account in the app; with User groups, you place your members in the box's group from the back office, and the WOD, the library and the chat open to them alone. Visitors keep a public part: the coaches, the address, the first-session offer and a contact form. Membership is paid at the box, as it is today: the app sells nothing.

Setting up the box's app, step by step

From the back office, before your members download it.
  1. The members' group

Turn on Authentication and User groups, then create the box's group.
  2. The WOD section

One article a day, the scaled version written under the Rx.
  3. The library

One video per movement, sorted by family: weightlifting, gymnastics, cardio machines.
  4. The chat

Opened to the group, so members talk to each other and to the coaches.

A community beyond the class

The chat, the box's events, the members' photos

The Chat lets members talk to each other and message the coaches: who is coming at 7 p.m., who has a spare jump rope, the carpool to the next competition. The Agenda gathers the box's dates, from the in-house throwdown to the end-of-season barbecue; members send their photos through a form and you choose the ones you publish.

The affiliate box with two coaches

The head coach writes the week's WODs on Sunday, the push goes out every morning, and the second coach films movements on Tuesday afternoons.

The functional training studio

No Olympic bar, but kettlebells, a sled and circuits: the same app, with a library of functional movements and the day's circuit by push.

The box looking for a schedule and booking

Showing classes and making one-to-one sessions bookable is what another page covers.
The gym app

Three gyms that train this way

And your box? Create the app and try it for 30 days, no credit card needed.

AI in the box's app

Two uses, and what they cost.
To time

An AMRAP, EMOM and For Time clock

Describe the clock you need to the AI Extension Builder, with its rounds, work and rest intervals and a large display: it generates the section in your app, in the box's colors. One example among many.

The week's WODs from your assistant

Your usual AI assistant, Claude or ChatGPT, once hooked up to the MCP server, turns your notes into the week's seven articles and schedules each morning's push; nothing goes out without your approval.

CrossFit box app: frequently asked questions

Can members book their spot in a class through the app?

Not with this app. Keep your booking software for classes; showing the schedule and offering bookable one-to-one sessions are covered on the gym app page.

Can box membership be paid in the app?

No. The app runs on accounts and a members' group, which rules out Memberships, the store subscription; and an in-app purchase would only ever sell content. Membership is paid at the box.

What happens when a member leaves the box?

You remove them from the group in the back office: their account still exists, but the WOD, the library and the chat close for them.

Does the app suit functional training without barbells?

Yes: the same setup serves a functional training studio, with the day's circuit by push and a library of kettlebell, sled and bodyweight movements.

Can athletes log their scores in the app?

The app has no score log and no leaderboard. Members share their times in the chat, and a photo of the whiteboard can join the WOD article.

What do visitors see before signing up?

The public part: the coaches, the box's address, the first-session offer and a contact form. Everything else waits until they join the group.
