One space per class, closed to the others

Each class has its sessions; parents and the teaching team have theirs too

Thanks to Authentication, every teacher, every parent and every pupil old enough to own a phone opens an account. You then enroll them in their group: a class, that class's parents, the teaching team. A person can belong to several groups; the teacher who is also a pupil's mother sees both spaces.

Three minutes after recess

The teacher starts the session, the class listens

Publish short sessions, in audio or video: filling your belly like a balloon, listening to the sounds of the playground, placing your hands on your heart. The teacher opens the class space on the tablet, or in the web version on the computer connected to the board, and chooses according to the moment: before a test, after sports, at the end of the day.

In the evening, parents take over

The exercise discovered in class, to repeat at home

In the parents' space, each session of the day has its evening version, a little longer, for bedtime. A message addressed to the group of that class's parents flags the new session; families from other classes do not receive it.

The relaxation practitioner

She runs workshops in several schools: one group per class she follows, and teachers find her sessions between two visits.

The middle school

One space per grade, one for parents, one for staff: the morning session is the same for all sixth-grade classes.

The family meditation podcast

When the sessions are meant for every family, with no school or class, an app sold by subscription is a better fit.

Three ways to bring meditation to school

Your project? Prepare the spaces for a first class: the first 30 days are on us, and no card is asked for.

A space of their own for teens

Their account, their sessions, their questions

Teenagers don't listen to what little ones listen to. Give them a separate group: stress before exams, sleep, calming down after screens. A form lets them ask a question without asking it in front of the class; it reaches you by email.

Opening the app to a school: five settings

From the back office, before the school year starts.
  1. Accounts

Turn on Authentication for teachers, parents and the pupils concerned.
  2. Groups

One per class, one for each class's parents, one for the teaching team.
  3. Sections

Reserve each one for the groups that should see it.
  4. Sessions

Publish the short audio and video sessions for the first term.
  5. The starter guide

On first launch, a welcome tour shows everyone where to find their sessions.

Sessions also open in the browser of the classroom computer.

Kids and teen meditation app: frequently asked questions

Can parents pay for a subscription in the app?

Not in this app, which is built on groups: that choice rules out Memberships. Funding is handled outside it, by the school, the association or the town that brings you in.

Should the app be declared in the stores' Kids category?

If it is aimed first at children, yes: declare it as Apps for Kids in the back office, and GoodBarber turns off what that category forbids, such as targeted ads or third-party analytics. An app designed for teachers and parents, who start the sessions themselves, is not necessarily concerned.

Does a young child need an account?

No: in class, the teacher starts the session from their account; at home, the parent from theirs. Only teenagers with a phone of their own get a personal account.

Can I keep the little ones' sessions apart from the teenagers'?

Yes: each section is reserved for the groups you choose. A class of young children never sees the teen space, and the other way around.

Can these sessions help an anxious child?

They teach how to settle down and breathe. For a child in difficulty, neither the session nor the app stands in for follow-up by a doctor or psychologist. When a child is struggling, their parents turn to a health professional.

What does an app for a school relaxation program cost?

You need Premium, which publishes to both stores, plus the accounts and groups options, or else Pro, which brings them together. Notifications and updates come with the GoodBarber subscription.

The budget for a relaxation app for classes

With Premium, the app comes out on iPhone and Android, web version included. Class spaces also need two options: sign-in by account (Authentication) and sorting into groups (User groups), both present in Pro. Nothing to sell to families: access is given, group by group.
Premium · iPhone, Android, web version55€ /month, billed yearly
Authentication, optional on Premium12€ /month
User groups, optional on Premium5€ /month
Pro · accounts and groups included105€ /month, billed yearly
The Apple and Google developer accounts are a separate cost, settled with the stores themselves.
