Trips built around a passion

One sheet per themed trip, open to anyone curious

Cranes in the Camargue in February, a textile trail through the weaving villages of Oaxaca, three nights under the Atacama sky: each trip has its sheet with the program, the physical level, the group size and the next departure dates. Photos from past editions show what lies ahead, and the key places sit on a map.

Themes that find their travelers

Wildlife watching

Bird migrations, whale season, bears at the salmon run.

Stargazing

Dark-sky reserves, eclipses, the northern lights.

Crafts

Weaving, ceramics, knife-making alongside local artisans.

Photography

Trips planned around the light, with a photographer.

Slow travel by rail

Night trains and scenic lines, with no flights.

Unusual experiences

A night in a lighthouse, a day with reindeer herders, a stay in a monastery.

Each departure has its own space

One user group per departure, one section only its travelers can open

The twelve travelers on the June 12 departure form the “Iceland, June 12” group. Their section holds the detailed program, the gear list for the theme, from binoculars to a spare camera battery, the meeting point at the airport and an introduction to the guide. Travelers on the September departure see their own section, not this one.

They get to know each other before leaving

Chat and profiles, so the group exists before the trip

With the Chat and Community extensions, travelers have a profile and write to one another in the app: who is bringing a tripod, who arrives the day before, who wants to share a taxi from the airport. On the first morning, the faces already have names.

A space per departure in the app, a messaging group or an email thread?

Three ways to bring a departure's travelers together. Here is what each one offers.
Your app with GoodBarberMessaging groupEmail thread
Your name and your catalog around the group your app, in the storesthe messaging app's nameyour emails
Program and documents next to the conversation in the departure's sectionshared as messagesas attachments

After the trip, the group lives on

Travelers' photos, and next year's dates announced to the right people

Back home, travelers send their best photos through a form; you publish a gallery in the departure's section. When the next edition of the trip is scheduled, a push to that group tells the people who loved it first.

Niche tourism app: tour operators' questions

How do travelers join their departure's space?

They sign up in the app; once their booking is confirmed on your side, you place them in the departure's group in the back office. The section then appears in their menu.

Where do unusual experiences go, the ones that aren't full trips?

In a dedicated section, next to the themed trips: a night in a lighthouse or a day with reindeer herders gets a sheet, photos and a place on the map, and requests reach you through a form.

Can I write to the travelers of a single departure?

Yes: a push targeted at that departure's group, sent right away or scheduled. Nobody else receives it.

Can travelers pay for their trip in the app?

No: bookings and payments go through your usual channels; the app takes no money.

Can we also sell a subscription to our travel stories?

Not alongside the departure spaces: paid subscriptions work with their own login system, and that system has no user groups. Pick the model your business needs.
