Tutorials sorted by room and by project

Bathroom, kitchen, walls, floors: everyone finds their project

Organize your videos the way a house gets renovated: by room, then by trade, from wall tiling to leveling a floor. Each tutorial states the skill level, how long the job takes and the tools to get. Videos play as streams, with no bandwidth fees; the size of your library depends on the plan's storage space.

A materials calculator inside your app

Floor area in; cans of paint, bags of adhesive and tiles out

Describe the tool in the back office: the user enters the room's dimensions, picks the job and gets the quantities to buy, with a margin for cuts. The AI Extension Builder generates the section and fits it into the app, in your branding; you check the formulas before publishing it. Open to everyone, the calculator introduces the app to people planning their shopping.

The tutorial for free, the full project for subscribers

One subscription opens every step-by-step renovation guide

Keep the short tips that bring readers in free to access, and lock the complete project guides: the order of works, drying times, the costly mistakes, the shopping list as a PDF. Every subscriber gets the same access; the subscription runs for a month or a year, whichever you open, and can begin with a trial.

The renovation channel

It follows one house from structural work to finishes; each project episode is for subscribers and announced by a notification on release.

The DIY blog

Its articles stay open while its step-by-step guides move behind the subscription; the paint calculator is the app's first screen.

The tradesperson who works in clients' homes

If your job is doing the work rather than teaching it, the booking app for handymen and repair services will suit you better.

Subscriptions and advertising, side by side

Sell placements to retailers and manufacturers yourself with GoodBarber's internal ad server, as banners or interstitials, or plug in a network such as AdMob. Ad revenue adds to what subscribers bring in, as in a news app.

Apple and Google developer accounts: a separate cost, paid directly to the stores.

DIY app: frequently asked questions

Does the materials calculator come ready-made?

No. It is one example of a tool the AI Extension Builder can produce: you describe the tool and its calculation rules, it produces the section, and you check the results before publishing it. The quantities shown follow from your formulas.

Can I mix free tutorials and paid guides?

Yes, you choose what stays open and what is locked, with at least ten locked items. There is a single subscription level, offered monthly or yearly.

Can I sell tools or materials in the app?

Not with the subscription, which is limited to content access. To sell products, GoodBarber offers another app, the eCommerce app; here, you can run brands' ads instead.

Is a subscription bought on my website recognized in the app?

No, the app only recognizes subscriptions bought through Apple or Google in the app. You can, however, grant access by hand, from the back office, to a given reader.

How much do the stores take from subscriptions?

Apple and Google generally hold back 15%; at Apple the rate is 30% for year one of each subscription, except for members of its small business program. GoodBarber takes no share of it.

Which plan for a DIY outlet?

Premium, which publishes the app in the stores, topped up with Memberships, or Pro, which comes with it. Standard stays on the web app, so no subscriptions.
