The new episode, on the lock screen

A notification goes out on release, where a newsletter waits in the inbox

You write episode 12 of your serial on Tuesday and schedule it for Thursday at 7 am. At that time it goes live, and the automatic notification goes out with its title: readers read it on the train, without hunting for an email between two promotions. Those who haven't subscribed get the announcement and read the opening lines.

A serial, episode after episode

Each series has its section, each episode its release date

Serialized novel, column, investigation in several parts: each series becomes a section, and each episode a dated article. A new reader starts with episode one, a regular opens the latest. The first episode of each series stays free; the rest is reserved for subscribers, with a preview that stops at the paragraph you choose.

An app of your own, a paid email letter, or a locked blog?

Readers subscribe in one gesture

Monthly or yearly, paid with their store account

No card number to type: the subscriber confirms with their Apple or Google account, and the subscription renews until they stop it. You set a price for each store and, if you wish, a trial period. Ten reserved texts are enough to open sales: enough to start with two series.

Your blog carries on, the app takes over

Your blog posts imported into an open section

Posts published on WordPress, Medium or Substack can feed an open section of the app through a connector, with nothing to retype; they stay open to everyone there. The episodes you sell are written in the app's CMS, alone or with co-authors, each with their own rights.

Your first series online: the steps

From the section to the first subscriber.
  1. One section per series

Give it a title, a cover and a summary.
  2. Episodes written ahead

Write several and schedule their release dates.
  3. The first episode open

Leave it free and reserve the next ones, with at least ten reserved texts in all.
  4. The offer

Monthly, yearly or both, with the web version switched on and your domain name.

AI for a writer

For readers

The character tree

Describe it to the AI Extension Builder: “the serial's characters, linked to each other, each one opening the episode where they appear”. The section is added to the app, in your layout.

App for bloggers and writers: frequently asked questions

Can I also send the episodes by email?

No, the app doesn't send emails: it alerts by notification. If your readers are attached to email, keep your newsletter to announce the episodes, and the app to read them.

Are my paid newsletter subscribers recognized?

Not automatically: the app's subscription goes through Apple and Google. You can grant access manually from the back office, reader by reader.

Can I sell a whole novel in one go?

No: the app sells a renewable subscription that opens all reserved texts. To sell a single book, keep your bookseller or your online shop.

Can posts imported from my blog be reserved?

No: an article imported through a feed stays open to all. Write the paid episodes in the app's CMS, and use the imported blog as a shop window.

Do I have to publish on a fixed day?

Nothing requires it, but readers get used to it quickly. Schedule each episode in advance: it comes out at the set time, with its notification.

Which plan for a writer's app?

To sell your series: Pro as it is, or Premium plus Memberships, in both cases with a web version published under your own domain.
Your series, episode by episode, under your own name: GoodBarber publishes them and takes nothing from the subscriptions
One section per series, scheduled episodes, a free first episode, a push at each release, imported blog, audio version, comments, Chatbot.
