The couple looking for a photographer for next summer

Engaged at Christmas, they compare photographers in January. In your app, they browse three weddings told from morning to night, then fill in the date request: July 12, church ceremony then vineyard reception, 90 guests. You reply with a quote; nothing commits you until the contract is signed.

The couple getting married in a month

Their engagement shoot is done: they've already been in front of your camera. What's left is the family photo list, which they complete in the app, naming for each group the relative who'll round it up; then they reread the photo timeline to fit in the couple portraits.

The couple back from their honeymoon

They sign in and open their wedding gallery, which nobody else can see: your selection is waiting for them. The high-resolution files still reach them through the transfer link you already use.

A year out, a month out, and after

Set up your wedding app, publish a first gallery and put it to the test for 30 days at no cost, without entering a card.

The engagement shoot, booked by the couple

One hour, late on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, a few months before the wedding

Open an "Engagement shoot" section with one-hour slots, Saturdays and Sundays from 4 to 7 pm. The couple picks a time, then gives their wedding date in the form, along with their dream spot for the shoot: the pier where they met, their neighborhood, a park. This hour also gets them used to the camera before the big day. Your weddings sit in the Google Calendar the section is linked to: a wedding Saturday, entered as an all-day event, offers no engagement shoot. The booking lands in your inbox and the couple's, answers included.

Your photo timeline for the wedding day

Getting ready

Rings, invitation suite, shoes and perfume gathered near a window before you arrive: ten minutes for details, then getting dressed.

The ceremony

Courthouse, church or backyard vows: the couple asks the officiant whether your movement or flash is restricted, and can ask guests for an unplugged ceremony.

Family photos

Right after the ceremony, about twenty minutes, in the order of the couple's list; a relative calls up the next group while you shoot the current one.

Couple portraits

Half an hour away from the crowd during cocktail hour, on the venue grounds or a street scouted in advance, with two people at ease since their engagement shoot.

The reception

Grand entrance, toasts, first dance, cake: when you pack up the camera depends on the package, and the article says so.

Wedding photographers: your questions about the app

Can a couple lock in their wedding date from the app?

No, the date is requested. A wedding takes your whole day, and you cover only one per date: it isn't one slot among others. So the couple fills in the request Form, and you reply with a quote. Once the contract is signed, mark that Saturday in Google Calendar as an all-day event: no engagement shoot can be booked on it anymore.

How far ahead can a couple book their engagement shoot?

As far ahead as you choose: the booking window goes up to 365 days. With 120 days, a couple who signs in January can already book an April shoot. A five-day minimum notice gives you time to scout the location. Whether it's part of the package or billed separately, the shoot is booked without payment. If someone without a contract books a slot, cancel it: they're notified by email.

How does each couple see their photos, and only theirs?

It takes Authentication, which gives each spouse an account, and User groups. After the wedding, you put both accounts in a group named after the couple, from the back office, then restrict their wedding gallery to that group: other users don't see it. The gallery shows your selection; the full files go out through your usual transfer tool.

How does the couple send me their family photo list?

Through an "Our family photos" Form, to fill in a month before the date: one field per group, from the largest to the most intimate, the name of the relative who'll round each one up, and delicate notes, such as divorced parents who shouldn't stand side by side. Each list reaches you by email and stays in the back office; exported as a CSV, it prints for the big day.

Can I sell the album or prints in the app?

No: no albums, no prints, no gift certificates; nothing is sold or paid for there. Show your album designs on a page with photos and handle the order with the couple as you do today. To let them point out their favorite photos remotely, a Form collects the photo numbers.

Can the couple pay the deposit without leaving the app?

No, the app takes no payment, whether for the date or the engagement shoot. Your deposit doesn't travel through it either: it reaches you the way your contract says. And until you've received it, nothing holds the date, since you're the one who enters it in your calendar.

Can I post a wedding's photos in the app's portfolio?

Yes, with the consent of the people photographed: the couple first, then any recognizable guests. Cover it in your contract, then tell the story of each wedding in a gallery, from morning to night: engaged couples discovering your work see a whole day. What you keep for the private gallery, only the couple sees.

Weddings in galleries, date requests and family photo lists through Forms, engagement shoots linked to your Google Calendar, the photo timeline in an article, a closed gallery for each couple. The app carries your name as a photographer, on iPhone and Android, and also opens in a browser.
