From the beginnning, we have focused not only on developing state-of-the-art machines offering outstanding performance characteristics, but also on optimizing the technology involved. And through-feed grinding is a highly specialized technology. The result is a symbiosis of mechanical engineering and grinding technology that is the real capital of LINEAR ABRASIVE. The design and construction of a grinding machine is one thing, the integration of process-related know-how another.

Where a serious attempt is made to identify all the factors involved and their interrelationships within the grinding process – which is exactly what we do – it is the user who benefits from an optimized product. And he can be sure that it will be hard to find better value for money elsewhere. This is because we have no secrets from our customers; we let them share in our know-how to the full. This takes the form of a full support package, from efficient training courses to a targeted after-sales service that includes access to process-related enhancements long after the machine has been delivered.

Although it is the oldest technique for shaping materials known to man, grinding is one of the most demanding chapters in the field of industrial machining. Apart from a few isolated cases, it was not until the late Sixties that systematic study of grinding technology began. Since then, research has come to play an increasingly important role.

Linear Grinding Machine

A fully automatic continuous linear grinding machine for grinding two opposing surfaces simultaneously. The NC software developed by LINEAR ABRASIVE permits all axes and grinding parameters to be set automatically by entering a simple code.


Today, each of the studies produced can be seen as a stone in the mosaic that forms the overall picture of grinding as a process of stock removal involving a complex of interrelated factors. In the case of grinding, what happens during the actual machining is not seen until the process is complete. To that extent the various studies conducted over the years have been essential for us to build up and consolidate our knowledge of the basic process and the more specialized details. In the meantime LINEAR ABRASIVE has patented a number of processes with the aim of offering effective solutions with outstanding grinding economy. In addition, the ability to meet extremely tight tolerances and proverbial reproducibility are among the convincing features of our products. - All of which goes to show that, in the case of through-feed grinding, we are masters of our trade in every form.
